Benefits of Educational Technology

Many positive aspects include worker training, an example would be a pilot being put in a plane simulator to test the knowledge and skills of a pilot before giving them the responsibility of hundreds of lives. Even video games are said to be improving the knowledge of a learner as many games nowadays require memory skills to be tested and improved (A. Collins* & R. Halverson†, 2010).

One key benefit of ed-tech is remote learning. During COVID-19 the world has seen just how quickly things can go sideways, really fast. Not only in education, but in the work world as well. So many businesses, organizations and individuals had to resort to working and studying from home. None of this would have been possible without the use of technology, to be more precise, educational technology (L, Stelianto, et al., 2020).

Another benefit of ed-tech is collaboration. Before computers, when working on projects students would have to sit around each other and maybe have one person write while the other members give ideas. This is unfair for the student who has to write as well as the other members who may want to contribute more. With educational technology, students can use online tools such as google docs, google PowerPoint and other forms of online tools to simultaneously work together instead of having one person do everything (D.Litnov, 2022).

One more key benefit of ed-tech would be for educators as this new learning environment will save lots of time when creating lesson plans. Teachers used to do everything by hand, whether it was creating a lesson plan, making an activity, homework, or even just grading papers. With the help of educational technology, educators can now find lesson plans online and interact with other educators to help their planning. Teachers can now easily set an automated grading system for multiple choice questions so now they do not have to go one by one. They can also track which student needs extra help with online grading systems, which can benefit the student as teachers can offer them support so they won’t fail (D.Litnov, 2022).
